Dealers typically price appliance warranties by doubling their cost (keystone pricing) or higher, but there’s flexibility to adjust based on market, product, or store strategy. This approach helps maximize profit per sale while keeping coverage competitive. Consumer Priority Service gives retailers control over warranty pricing so they can align it with their business goals.
Do warranty providers enforce pricing or MAP policies?
Sometimes—some warranty providers set strict MAP or retail pricing rules that limit dealer margins, but Consumer Priority Service does not enforce strict pricing on their True Extended program, letting dealers set their own prices. Only the 50% Back program has a set MSRP from CPS, to maintain the integrity of the refund feature.
How much can I mark up appliance warranties?
You control how much to mark up appliance warranties with Consumer Priority Service. For True Extended plans, CPS provides a suggested MSRP—usually about double your dealer cost—but you can set higher or lower pricing based on your strategy. The only exception is the 50% Back program, where the MSRP is set by CPS to maintain the refund structure.
